lesson #1: kore/sore/are...

flights booked, rail pass purchased...and before you know it, it will be October 8th and I'll be following Britt around like a lost puppy in Japan. It will be a quick trip (for me at least, only one week) but I am SO excited! Although, I don't quite know how I'll get by without my darling...i am super duper excited for the trip with friend turned tour guide Brittan! poor Britt and Clark will have to hear me practice Japanese phrases for the next few months...

Busy time of year for everyone it seems. Lots of traveling and planning happening. We've got a sister and a set of parents staying with during the first two weekends of August as well as four concerts (so far..). Can't wait though, all goods things. and this domestic planning has been great fun too. It's amazing how excited you can get over a new set of sheets (clark: "match? why do you have to match your sheets? match them to what?" shannon: "why do you have one thousand pairs of shoes? i don't know, you just do!")

good luck with your day and go out and buy Jason Mraz's new hot cd 'Mr. A-Z' in stores today!! And don't forget to pick up Ms. Tristan Prettyman's debut album next Tuesday 8/2, 't w e n t y t h r e e'!!

plans/agendas/meetings/etc...

phew...for not doing much i sure have been doing a lot. everyday there's a dinner or meeting, piece of furniture to go look for or doing of some sort, in and out of these office walls. Which is good I guess. keeping me busy, out of trouble and having fun (for the most part). Few things I'm loving': all the yummy food, good company and photo ops thanks to these gatherings; good tunes; new sightings (read: ever been to a sneaker exhibit?); Things I'm over: furniture shopping but not finding what i'm looking for; feeling "overwhelmed".

All kinds of excitement coming up though! I don't think I've ever looked forward to the summer ending until now. August brings visits from my lovely sister, my lovely mother, Mr & Mrs Anderson and maybe even a surprise guest appearance by Kendra(??!!). Not to mentioned the highly anticipated Coldplay concert. Come to think of it, September is actually looking pretty quiet. The latest excitement comes thanks to Britt and her invitation to join her in Japan. Looks like that will be happening around the second week in October. More details to follow...Many good things to look forward to, so next time I try to whine about work/life stuff...ummm, tell me to chill.

song o' the day..."don't go away"...oasis...haven't heard this song in ages...it's awesome

happy belated birthday to America and...

I can't quite figure out if I should or should not be allowed to read the newspaper before, during or after work. It really just makes me realize how insignificant all my daily work worries are. but anyhow...

Happy Birthday to Brittan! (not Brittney and no her birthday is NOT on the 3rd thankyouverymuch) and what a wonderful birthday it must be as she returns to her adoring fans with two gold medals and one silver from the "high-yaw" Nationals in Florida. Congrats Britt! You kick booty!

The "new" apartment is coming along nicely. Still awaiting some much needed furniture and box unpacking (for some reason that magical unpacking elf hasn't visited my apartment yet...). But it is certainly coming along. The latest purchase was an outdoor grill, so keep your eyes peeled for that housewarming BBQ invite.

Much luv.
