I had cheese and crackers for lunch, finished my workday and drove home. I arrived to my usual "welcome home" hug and kiss. Clark handed me a Nike box and said he got new sneakers, so I looked inside only to find a smaller box nestled between the size 12s. Clark got down on one knee, presented me with the most beautiful ring I have ever seen and asked me to be his wife forever. We popped some bubbly, packed our overnight bag while making about 2 dozen phone calls and checked into the Grand Colonial hotel in LaJolla. I had sesame crusted ahi and a pomegranate champagne martini (okay, 2) for dinner and Clark had steak delmonico with a vodka tonic. I heard all about the trials and tribulations of getting the ring to San Diego, and we shared stories about the past 3 years of knowing each other. I fell asleep to the sound of the pacific crashing outside our window and spent my first night as an engaged woman intertwined with the man of my dreams.
ps... oh yeah, I said "yes"
